This webinar aims to demystify food labelling and empower consumers to make informed choices in today’s evolving food system.

Hear from Kara Barnes, Director of Science and Programs at the Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef (CRSB), as she delves into the technical aspects of sustainable beef certification. We’ll also feature insights from Susie Miller, Executive Director of the Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Crops (CRSC), who brings over 30 years of agriculture policy and industry leadership expertise. Selene Munro, Director of Sustainability at UFA, will provide an industry perspective on sustainability initiatives. This is your chance to explore the science behind sustainable beef and crop production and understand how certification processes, resource management, and sustainability frameworks shape the food on your plate.

Speakers

Kara Barnes, Director, Science and Programs, Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef (CRSB). Kara leads the technical components of CRSB’s certification, overseeing projects and programs promoting sustainable beef industry practices.  Susie Miller. Executive Director, Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Crops (CRSC). With over 30 years of experience across Agriculture and AgriFood Canada, the Saskatchewan government, and various industry associations, Susie directs CRSC’s efforts in promoting sustainable crop production through policy and industry collaboration.

Selene Munro. Director of Sustainability, UFA Co-operative Ltd. Selene leads UFA’s sustainability initiatives, focusing on integrating ESG frameworks into the cooperative’s operations to enhance environmental and social responsibility across the agricultural sector.
